Buyer's Credit to Yılport Holding A.Ş. Supporting Export of Our Port Container Cranes to Ecuador
Based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed among MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (MITSUI E&S: President: Takeyuki TAKAHASHI), Yılport Holding A.Ş. (YILPORT: Chairman: Robert Yuksel Yildirim) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) that aims to support YILPORT's port development by using the port container cranes of MITSUI E&S, JBIC and YILPORT has signed a buyer's credit (export loan) agreement.
The loan is intended to provide the necessary funds, co-financed with ING Bank N.V., Tokyo Branch, through YILPORT, for the introduction of a total of 24 port container cranes manufactured by MITSUI E&S at the Port of Puerto Bolivar, Republic of Ecuador, operated by for YILPORT Terminal Operations S.A. (YILPORT Puerto Bolívar), an Ecuadorian subsidiary of YILPORT.
Our cranes at the Port of Puerto Bolivar, including MITSUI-Paceco Portainer capable of handling the world's largest 24,000 TEU vessels and the electrified MITSUI-Paceco Transtainer, contribute to the development of the port while being environmentally friendly.
Additionally, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which has signed an MOU with JBIC, has already extended a loan to YILPORT Puerto Bolivar to modernize and expand the port. Public institutions in various countries are also providing support for port infrastructure development. MITSUI E&S plans to support one of the leading global terminal operators, YILPORT aiming to further expand its business around the world as well as to expand its global container crane business all over the world including USA, Central and South America, Europe, ASEAN countries and so forth.
